Opened in 2019, the all-new Cougar Point Clubhouse â complete with The Playersâ Pub that serves classic American casual fare â overlooks the 18 th hole of this highly regarded course. Cougar Point reopened after a complete 10-month renovation in October 2017 under the direction of architect Gary Player. Cougar Point is highlighted by a stretch of holes 4 through 6 that rest beside the Kiawah River, with sweeping marsh vistas regarded as some of the most serene on the Island. Due to its natural beauty and exceptional playability, Cougar Point is a favorite amongst resort guests and frequent visitors. Player designed the course with creative placement of multiple tee boxes on each hole, creating an enjoyable and challenging round for golfers of every level, from beginners to the scratch golfer. This layout presents plenty of risk-reward challenges for low-handicappers while also providing generous landing spots and ample targets for golfers seeking a safer approach.
