BUNKER SHOTS
Most high handicappers have an ingrained fear of bunkers shots. Here are a few simple tips to alleviate stress and keep things simple. Take a traditional open stance but instead of playing the ball off of your left heel, move the ball forward slightly. This will promote a shallower swing and allow for more room to maneuver the club through the sand. Remember to always accelerate through the ball and not just dig the club head into the bunker. Try this simple tip and you'll find how easy a bunker shot can be.
A Tom Fazio design, Osprey Point opened in 1988 and quickly earned a place
among America’s top resort courses. Set
amid pristine lagoons, marshes and maritime forests, Osprey Point offers
picturesque views from every hole. The setting for the course features four
large natural lakes and fingers of saltwater marshes. Into this backdrop Fazio
created a masterpiece of playability and variety, a favorite of residents and
resort guests alike. In fact, it was recently ranked No. 9 in Golf for Women magazine's "Top 50 Golf Courses for Women". An expansive clubhouse encompasses over 14,000 square feet of pro
shop offering quality apparel, attended locker rooms and a semi-private dining
room. It was recently awarded 4 1/2 stars in Golf Digest’s "Places to
Play" readers’ poll.
